The main goals of this task were to create functionality for personalized avatars:


  1. Make avatars an important visual element at the table

  2. Increase player engagement and emotional attachment

  3. Create a foundation for LiveOps and monetization

  4. Stand out in the market and strengthen the brand


Project overview

The first entry point was to create a player engagement scenario at the table for the new functionality.

To achieve this, we displayed the user’s avatar image on the game field to provoke other players to click on the avatar.

I enhanced the profile experience by introducing a pop-up window that highlights the new feature — personalized avatars. It showcases the user’s current outfit (skin) along with the rarity of equipped items, which can be explored in more detail by interacting with the dedicated sections. This approach encourages players to compare their appearance with that of their opponents.


When a player first encounters the avatar feature, their natural questions are: “What is this?” and “How can I get it?”. We guide them through these questions with an informative tooltip and a dedicated section, allowing them to explore and try out the functionality themselves.

Avatar Creation Onboarding

When a player enters the avatar creation section for the first time, we offer them two options:


  1. Quick and simple — a “Random” button that generates a character in just a few seconds.

  2. Advanced and detailed — manual character customization using the editing interface located at the bottom of the screen.


We recognize that players may access this feature during gameplay, so the process must be as efficient as possible. To address this, we designed a concise three-step onboarding flow that introduces the avatar creation functionality and guides the user through it quickly and seamlessly.

When choosing the quick option, the user waits approximately 10–15 seconds while the system generates a random appearance, taking into account the character’s gender and skin tone.
